The head of the Representative office hosted Viktor Meczner, a participant of the internship program at the European Committee of the Regions. 

Mr. Meczner works in the CIVEX commission - the Commission for citizenship, governance, institutional and external affairs. He comes from Samobor, and completed his graduate studies at the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Zagreb. 

The Commission for Citizenship, Governance, Institutions and Foreign Affairs (CIVEX) coordinates the work of the Committee of the Regions on constitutional and institutional issues (e.g. the future of Europe, local democracy and the transfer of powers, active subsidiarity and better drafting of legislation), on topics related to the area of ​​freedom, security and justice (eg migration and integration, fundamental rights and freedoms, active citizenship), as well as issues in the field of the EU's external dimension (with an emphasis on enlargement countries and neighboring countries and development cooperation from a local and regional perspective). 

The region of Slavonia, Baranja and Srijem has a representative in the CIVEX commission, the prefect of the Brod-Posavina County, Danijel Marušić.
