The Representative Office of Slavonia, Baranja and Srijem in Brussels began operating on 8 October 2019 at the initiative of Osijek-Baranja County, based on the Cooperation Agreement between five Slavonian counties: Osijek-Baranja County, Brod-Posavina County, Vukovar-Srijem County, Virovitica-Podravina County and Požega-Slavonia County.

Previously, the Office was active since 2007 as part of the Regional Development Agency of Slavonia and Baranja.

The main aim of the Representative Office in Bruxelles is to ensure a strong representation of the regional interests of Slavonia, Baranja and Srijem, as well as local industry and companies.

The task of the Representative Office is, among other things, to directly and indirectly provide information on current processes in Brussels that are relevant for the counties, towns and municipalities of Slavonia, Baranja and Srijem, with special regard to the work processes of European Commission, European Parliament and Committee of the Regions.

Other than providing information, the task of the Representative Office of Slavonia, Baranja and Srijem in Brussels is to establish horizontal connections with other regions and European institutions in order to find Croatian, European and other international resources and partners for projects and programs important for the region.

The Representative Office also has the potential to develop transnational connections with other EU regions with the goal of promoting international and regional cooperation and to provide support to Croatian companies wishing to enter the European market.
