Green plan: cities and regions define the plan for 2021.
The European Committee of the Regions (CoR) has proposed a Green Plan for 2021.
At the 4th Meeting of the Working Group “Green Plan at the Local Level”, local leaders agreed on policy goals and priorities for accelerating the carbon neutral transition, with cities and regions at the center of recovery from COVID 19.
The goals are key
-encouraging active subsidiarity,
-strengthening institutional cooperation
-facilitating direct access to EU funds.
Priority areas are renovation of buildings, greening of urban areas and decarbonisation of traffic. Also, discussions were held on the challenge of smart cities and the mechanism of fair transition.
Both topics have prominent places in the implementation of the green plan program.
