Policies for the development of entrepreneurship and innovative SMEs in rural areas.
Scope and content
The adoption of innovations and the introduction of measures to support entrepreneurship play a crucial role in the transformation of rural areas into a knowledge economy. Small and medium-sized enterprises in Europe are considered to be the main drivers of our economy and are at the heart of the EU's main strategic and political goals. Despite this fact, there is still a gap between urban and rural SMEs, leaving a potential path for the latter as a source of economic growth and innovation.
The conference has practical content aimed at providing useful advice not only at the political level but also to the general public interested in entrepreneurship and innovation processes in rural areas across Europe.
Participants will learn about the practical lessons learned in the rural SME project and related topics from qualified professionals working in governments / public administrations (at different levels) and other representatives from the regions and end users.
Special emphasis will be placed on knowing all available resources for economic recovery after the COVID-19 crisis.
Rural SME project
Funded by the Interreg European Program, the aim of the rural SME project is to improve the policies of regional support systems related to entrepreneurship, as well as innovation (given their application in rural areas) to increase the creation of innovative SMEs in this environment, but also supporting those already established to innovate in their day-to-day activities.
