The European Commission recently published a call for project proposals for a partnership for sustainable cities (EuropeAid / 171273 / DH / ACT / Multi).
The aim of the program is to promote integrated urban development through partnerships built between local authorities of EU Member States and partner countries.
This call will contribute to addressing the EU's new policy priorities, in particular the promotion of good governance, the "green plan", growth, job creation and digitalisation.
More specifically, it aims to strengthen urban governance, ensure the social inclusion of cities, improve resilience and green prosperity, and innovate in cities.

Total grant allocation: 39,849,442 (EUR)
Grant amount:
Any requested EU contribution (grant) under this call for proposals must be between the following minimum and maximum amounts:
• minimum amount: EUR 1,000,000
• maximum amount: EUR 3,000,000
Each requested EU contribution (grant) under this call for proposals must be between the following minimum and maximum percentages of the total eligible costs of the action:
• Minimum percentage: 50% of the total eligible costs of the activity
• Maximum percentage: 95% of the total eligible costs of the activity

For the purpose of this call for proposals, the term “Local Government” refers to public institutions with legal personality, a component of the state structure, below the level of central government and accountable to citizens. Local authorities usually consist of a council or policy-making body (council or assembly) and an executive body (mayor or other executive officer), directly or indirectly elected or elected at the local level. Local governments cover a wide range of sub-state levels and branches of government, i.e. municipalities, communities, counties, counties, provinces, regions, counties, etc.
