The Commission today launched the 5th edition of the Youth4Regions competition for journalism students and young journalists.

Requests from EU Member States, neighboring countries and accession countries are accepted. 33 candidates will be selected to participate in the Youth4Regions program. The winners will meet in Brussels during European Week of Regions and Cities to take part in training, talk to experienced journalists and visit EU institutions and media organizations.

The selected young journalist will take part in the competition for the Megalizzi-Niedzielski Award for Young Journalists, which will be presented on 12 October. The application form and conditions for participation are available on the program website until July 12. # Youth4Regions is the Commission's program to help journalism students and young journalists discover what the EU is doing to strengthen economic and social cohesion and reduce development inequalities between EU regions. Since its inception in 2017, almost 100 winners have received support under the Youth4Regions program.
