The Executive Board of the Conference on the Future of Europe, made up of representatives of the European Parliament, the Council of the European Union and the European Commission, is launching a multilingual digital platform for the Conference on the Future of Europe.

The platform is available in 24 languages ​​and allows citizens from all over the Union to exchange ideas and opinions through online events.

European Parliament President David Sassoli said: The platform is a key tool for enabling citizens to participate in deciding Europe's future. We must be sure that their voice will be heard and that they will play a role in decision-making regardless of the COVID-19 disease pandemic. European representative and participatory democracy will continue to function no matter what, because it is necessary for our common future.
Portuguese Prime Minister António Costa said on behalf of the Council Presidency: It is time for our citizens to actively express their greatest concerns and ideas. That debate could not have come at a better time. We must make preparations now if we want to emerge from this crisis even stronger and be ready for the future when we overcome the pandemic. We hope to continue to build together the Europe of the future: a fairer, greener and more digitalized Europe that responds to the expectations of our citizens.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said: Health, climate change, quality and sustainable jobs in an increasingly digital economy, the state of our democratic societies: we call on Europeans to express their views openly, to debate everything that bothers them and to help us they say what kind of Europe they want to live in. The Conference on the Future of Europe is an unprecedented example of open and inclusive deliberative democracy. It aims to enable citizens from all segments of society and from all over Europe to openly say what they expect from the European Union, and to use the opinions gathered in this way in creating policies and determining the future direction of the EU.
