Better conditions for all regions and the possibility of withdrawing from EU funds

The new statistical division of Croatia into regions opens the door for withdrawing money from EU funds and providing support to the private sector.

A new statistical division was made two years ago and has five regions: the Adriatic, the Pannonian, the north of Croatia and the City of Zagreb as a separate region. Such a division is nothing new, but it is news that from January 1 next year, state aid in percentages will grow.

Thus, in the Pannonian and northern Croatian regions, they rise from 25 percent to 50 percent, while in Adriatic Croatia they go from 25 to 40 percent, and in the City of Zagreb from 25 to 35 percent. Of course, less developed regions will receive higher amounts of state aid in order to try to reach the standard of more developed ones as soon as possible.

"The essence of the division is that all statistical regions in Croatia, and thus counties, are the winners, and that the benefits for businesses, businessmen and investors will be greater," the Prime Minister added, adding that the intensity of support would increase. by 10 percentage points when it comes to both medium and small businesses. That is, he explained, what is 50 percent for the big ones, 60 percent for the medium ones, and up to 70 percent for the small ones.
