Digitisation has the potential to transform the EU industry. Europe also benefits from strong innovation and industrial base across sectors and countries.

Yet, adoption of advanced digital technologies is still uneven. Regional and European programmes (such as Horizon 2020) support and strengthen the regional and industry capacities to adopt these innovative technologies. To optimally benefit from the capacities across Europe however, EU cooperation should also be strengthened.
