The survey reveals how local and regional representatives see their relationship with national and European policy makers, which topics should be a priority at EU level, and how aware they are of EU-wide initiatives and EU funding opportunities.
Research results: It is time to give regions and cities a greater role in EU decision-making.
54% of respondents think it is "very important" to increase the influence of regions and local authorities on national policymaking.
46% of respondents think it is "very important" to increase the influence of regions and local authorities on EU policymaking.
41% do not agree that LRAs have enough influence on the future of the EU.
59% want local and regional authorities to have more influence on EU climate and environment policies.
49% agree that better information on democratic systems at the EU, national and subnational level would make European democracy work better.
43% are aware on the Conference on the Future of Europe but they are not aware of any initiative on the Conference in their constituency.
A survey of local EU politicians on the future of Europe was conducted by IPSOS.
